Do you think golf should have a shot clock? As always, our Tour writer has some strong opinions on the matter.

There’s no doubt in my mind that a shot clock would make the Tour product more entertaining… but that’s me.

Titleist GT1 Driver

Expanded reach.

Historically, which I suppose means for its first three iterations, Titleist’s 1 driver was the light one. While that remains true with the GT1 driver, Titleist wants golfers to understand there’s a bit more to the story. This GT1 offers added versatility which has the potential to significantly expand the pool of players who might just fit into one.

A mini driver coming later this year?

In the midst of the new release chaos that is December through January in the golf equipment, COBRA nearly snuck one past us.

Recently Added to the USGA’s conforming driver list is COBRA KING Mini Driver. To be clear, we assume it’s a mini. It sure as hell looks like one.

Stop Overlooking This Club

It’s about time.

Heading into 2025, Mizuno has made the unusual decision to not just let it ride with its current ST driver lineup. The company has slashed prices by no small amount.

The ST-X 230, ST-Z 230 and ST-MAX are just $300, literally half the price of most competitors’ offerings. If the ST-G is more your speed, it’s only $50 more (that’s $350 for those of you who aren’t arithmetically inclined).

Should golf have a shot clock?

Yes … and no.

There is, technically, already a “rule” for how much time golfers have to play a shot.

“It is recommended that the player make the stroke in no more than 40 seconds after they are (or should be) able to play without interference or distraction,” according to rule 5.6b in the USGA Rules of Golf.

So, should the Tour implement a shot clock?
