Best Transition Drills To Try
Do this, not that.
Impact is the most important part of a golf swing. However, don’t ignore how important the transition from backswing to downswing can be. You have very limited time to get this movement right and make the proper transition. Focusing on body rotation, a smooth transfer of weight and a great tempo is a start. Here are some of the best golf transition drills to try if you think your swing could be more efficient.

MGS Experiences: Chambers Bay
Worth the trip?
Then Chambers hosted the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship (2021) and U.S. Women’s Amateur (2022) to rave reviews. A few golf writers I knew had been to Chambers and really enjoyed it.
My curiosity grew until the point I pulled the trigger on a trip to see it.

TUESDAY TOUR TALK
This is a myth!
I think one of the biggest myths in golf is that the game is 90% mental.
It’s reassuring to think that we are closer to golf competency than it appears. If we could just remember to breathe, make smart course management decisions, stick to a perfect routine and visualize the best possible outcome each time… maybe our 15 handicap would turn into a 5 handicap without a whole lot of additional changes to our swing or equipment.
While all of that sounds nice, it’s wildly unrealistic.
The mental game is a big component of golf, but let’s all be honest here—physical talent and gear decisions are substantially more important to score than being in the right state of mind.
And you know what puts you in the best state of mind? You know what makes you more proactive about routine, breathing, course management decisions and all of the other mental game decisions that you make during a round?
Hitting fairways. Hitting greens. Making putts. Confidence derived from good golf swings.
One of the realities of golf is that just about anybody could beat anybody in one moment. Most golfers have holed a chip before. Put the best golfer in the world in that exact spot with only one chance to hole the chip and they probably won’t do it. The odds are against them.
But if the sample size is a little larger, the equation changes. The physical, tangible gifts are too much to overcome.
It’s the same concept with the mental game vs. the physical game. Your great mental game might make you a better player, but the ceiling is whatever your swing and equipment will allow.
Unless you improve them, you aren’t drastically improving your score. Period.
