TOGETHER WITH TITLEIST
Behind the Design: Pro V1
Now you know!
Did you know it took just 90 days for the Pro V1 to change golf forever?
Itās not as simple as it sounds.
No one, and I mean no one, could have known it at the time but an offhand lunchroom comment at Titleist in 1995 would, five years later, completely change the game of golf in just 90 days.
The question that started it all?
āWhat if we put a urethane cover on this thing?ā
Fast foward to 2000, Titleist couldnāt keep up with demand.
In the three months from mid-December of 2000 to mid-March of 2001, the Pro V1 went from nothing to No. 1. No one at Titleist had that on their bingo card which meant leadership had some difficult decisions to make.
āWe just couldnāt make enough,ā says Stone. āI donāt think any Tour player would have dreamt of hitting a ball as long off the tee as the Pinnacle but with the Professionalās performance around the green. That wouldnāt have been in the realm of possibility.ā

THROWBACK THURSDAY
Hot or Cold?
Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned pro, let's talk about something you probably haven't thought about enough: temperature and your golf balls. Yep, that innocent-looking ball sitting in your bag is way more sensitive than most golfers realize. Hot or cold, the temperature can seriously mess with your game.
How to Keep Your Balls in Their Sweet Spot
Golfers, stop leaving your balls baking in the trunk of your car or freezing in your garage. Your ball's performance (and your scorecard) depends on how you treat them. Hereās how to keep them game-ready:
Store Them Indoors: Aim for room-temperature storage, ideally between 60Ā°F and 70Ā°F.
Warm Them Up in Winter: Bring your balls inside before a chilly round. Toss them in your pocket or a hand warmer before teeing off.
Shade in Summer: Avoid letting them bake in direct sunlight or in your car.
