Growing up, my dream was to play on the PGA Tour. Maybe you had the same dream, too.

By the time I reached my teenage years, it became apparent that the game required incredible discipline and work ethic to be mastered.

As I got into the media side of golf, I realized something else: professional golf can be a brutal way to make a living.

What I take away from the past couple of weeks is that the negative side of that equation needs to be discussed more often.

Making a lot of money doesn’t mean the struggles that come with it aren’t valid. Of course, they are.

Normalize pro golfers talking about the mental struggles of pro golf. The rest of us don’t need to criticize them for being ungrateful—we can just listen.

Does Your Driver Have a Hidden Draw Bias Setting?

If you own a driver with swappable front and back weights, you probably know that putting the heavier weight in the back will increase launch and forgiveness while adding a bit more spin (typically 250-300 RPM).

But did you know that putting the heavier weight in the back will often introduce a bit more draw bias (or at least less fade bias) as well?

Given the shape of drivers, the back weight position is typically closer to the heel than the forward one. So, while you’re not going to get as much help as you would with a driver that lets you put weight in the heel, the subtle shift in the center of gravity might be just enough to keep the ball from leaking on you.
