PING G440 Drivers

New and (hopefully) improved?

While PING tends to be a little more no-nonsense than some of its competitors, there’s still plenty to the story of the new G440 family of drivers.

In some respects, the new drivers are exactly what you’d expect from PING. It’s also fair to say there are some mostly pleasant surprises.

There’s a lot of important and interesting stuff to dig into but because I find it’s sometimes best to ease into things, let’s start with the cosmetics.

In 2025, Cameron is continuing to offer the original Phantom line mallets and adding a couple of new options. In a stunning twist, left-handed golfers are getting more new Phantoms than the right-handers.

What’s new?

PING did something impressive with their new G440 game-improvement irons: they squeezed more performance into a more compact iron profile. In the game-improvement market, “make them larger” is often the recipe for improvement. Yet, somehow, PING has made a better iron while making some of the aspects smaller.

Wilson Brings Back Triad Golf Ball

Here’s what you need to know

The Wilson Triad golf ball is a couple of things. First off, it’s a three-layer urethane golf ball priced just under $40. That’s nice but not remotely unique. What makes the Triad interesting is what Wilson calls Tri-Balanced Technology and, in our opinion, that’s what makes the Triad so innovative.
