đ Is Pro Golf Dying?
It might be.
Hi Golfer,
Iâll be honest âŠ
I donât see how the PGA Tour and LIV donât taper off and die in the next five years. The current state of affairs doesnât look very good. No one is watching, and frankly, not many people care about EITHER tour.
Something needs to change, lest pro golf turn into nothing more than a Sunday snoozefest.
Do you agree? We answered some of your most poignant questions about the future of pro golf.

Struggle out of the bunker?
Youâre not alone.
Did you know that a 25hcp golfer is 6x more likely to leave their ball in the bunker than a scratch golfer?
If you find the sand, high handicappers, in particular, be sure to get the ball back on the short stuff to avoid dropping costly strokes.

Golf Etiquette Matters
This past weekend, I played in a casual fourball match at my local muni.
Money was involved ($5 a side and $5 total for the round), although it wasnât anything overly serious. The course was mostly wide open. The golf being played was mediocreâpars were winning holes.
My team consisted of an 8 and 15 handicap. The other team was a 6 handicap and a 35 handicap, but the 35 handicap was allowed to play from the 6 handicapâs tee shots.
We probably should have been winning, but my buddy and I were playing like crap on the front nine and went 3 down through nine. By the back nine, we got ourselves together and came back to tie the match when everything was said and done.
There was no money exchangedâand we all had a great timeâbut something happened during the round that rubbed me the wrong way: the 6-handicap took practice shots on about 50% of his shots.
I think there is a line to when any golfer should take an extra shot. He went way over that line.
Hitting a breakfast ball off the first tee in a typical recreational round? Totally encouraged.
Taking a provisional or hitting another ball after going OB or into a hazard? Yep, go ahead.
Raking a putt back to take another stab? Granted there is nobody behind you, thatâs fine.
Extra full swings when playing alone and nobody is behind you? Absolutely.
But at a certain point, you need to respect the people around you. Even if you arenât playing a match, a round with other people isnât your practice time. This isnât the driving range.
And especially in a match, taking extra shots all over the place is a bit of a middle finger.
