🤖🧠 AI is Hurting Your Golf Game

Don't get duped by AI

Hi Golfer,

Well, we made it.

It’s Friday. The Memorial heads into the weekend with Scottie, Xander, and Viktor Hovland all in the mix, though my Canadian friends wouldn’t forgive me if I failed to mention Adam Hadwin on top of the leaderboard with Corey Conners currently T-3.

🇨🇦 If either wins, Monday might be declared a National holiday, eh?

Looking ahead to next week, we’ve got an interesting release on the calendar for Tuesday and some thoughts on whether pros have it too easy out of the rough.

Enjoy the weekend!

AI Is Hurting Your Game

What Google AI Gets Wrong

There's no denying the buzzword that is AI (artificial intelligence). Both inside and outside of golf, AI has taken over meeting rooms, research labs, even our smartphones.

It's not lost on me the impact that AI is having, specifically on golf clubs. I'm a big fan of the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Driver and there are plenty of other clubs this year whose tech stories center around artificial intelligence.

In that sense, AI can be helpful. I'm hitting better drives than ever with my new Callaway driver. That said, AI has started to creep into our search engines, namely Google. This new feature from Google is doing more to hurt your golf game than help it.

In a world where it's already hard to trust the information that's so readily available to us, Google's new AI search feature is making it harder to find the truth.

🕵️ FRIDAY SPY TIPS

How Many Lob Wedges Do You Need?

What if I told you the answer to that ☝️ question is 2?

While generally, we don’t recommend changing equipment based on the course and conditions, the lob wedge can be the exception.

If your primary lob wedge is a versatile, low bounce model like the Vokey T Grind, you should consider keeping a mid-to-high bounce option in the trunk (metaphorically) for softer courses and rainy days.

That’s when I go to the V Grind and while it’s not quite as versatile, it won’t dig into soft turf like the T.

Most every wedge lineup has a range of lob wedge bounce options, so even if you don’t play Vokey wedges, you can still use a two lob wedge approach to managing course conditions and ultimately playing better golf.
